ABSTRACT
The study
examined the effect of branding on performance of engine oil, in Aba. It
specifically focused to examine the effect of branding product and to find out if
branding assisted in building a relationship between branding and sales volume.
In order to execute the mandate of this research, the study adopted some sample
techniques, which was employed in the selection of location and respondents,
the study had a total of 227 respondents that formed the sample size. A
descriptive table was used in this study. The result showed that branding
assisted significantly in building a relationship between branding helped in
sales volume, it was equally found that branding, helped in examining the
effect on the product. On the basis of the outcome, this study therefore
recommended that, firm s in the industry should increase their level
ofpublicity ofthe branded products. This helps to build trust and confidences
in the minds of consumers. This study further recommended that price being a
sensitive issue requires that firm s must ensure that consumers are delighted
to offer any amount for the product. This is because perception of quality was
affected by opinion ofpeople around them especially professionals.
