The Effect Of Working Conditions Of Salesmen On Performance Of Firms In Aba, Abia State.
ABSTRACT
This research work focused on the effect of
working conditions of salesmen on performance of firms in Aba, Abia State. The
study was carried out in Aba south Local Government Area of Abia State using
some selected firms in the area. About 93 respondents were randomly selected
and used as sample of the study. The sample size used was determined using Yaro
Yamen's formula. Oral interview and observation were used in questionnaire
administration. In analyzing the result, frequencies, percentages and tables
were used while chi-square model and regression model were adopted in testing
the hypothesis. Findings indicated that the level of motivation and training
were low. Adequate motivations enhance sales performance .Good condition of
work leads to salesmen satisfaction. Right selection of salesmen have
significant influence on sales performance .lt was recommended that the
salesmen should be motivated and trained. There should be adequate good
condition of work .Selection procedure of salesmen should be on the basis of
qualification and not on the basis of familiarity and relationship with the
applicant.
