ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to
determine the effects of branding on the sales of soft dinks. The hope of the
marketers is to find or develop brand name that will strongly relate to the
personal value structure of a large segment of the market. This project was
carried out to determine and analyze the effect of branding on the sales of
soft drinks. Brand names provide strong assistance in the development of
marketers for convenient goods. The researcher prepared a set of questionnaire
which was used to gather base information required to answer the research
questions. The research went round the company such as the departments in the
company and had the selected respondents on the need to anticipate in the
exercise. The results and responses of the questionnaire were analyzed by using
the simple method and simple percentage to interpret the result. It was found
out that branding has significant effect on the sales of soft drinks and also
has a significant relationship between branding and the manufacturing cost.
Finally, the following recommendation were made, further work of experimental
nature employing the techniques used in this study is needed to definitely,
resolve the issue of whether branding affects the sales of soft drinks. Most
importantly, manufacturing firms in Nigeria should become more aggressive in
quality consciousness and never undermined their local product brands.
