Role Of International Trade Policies On Nigerian International Trade (1980 - 2012) :- Nwosu Grace E
ABSTRACT
This study analyzed the role of
international trade polices on the international trade of Nigeria. This study
is imperative because of the growing call for international partnership and
cooperation to foster international trade and economic development. This study
has four specific objectives which are to analyze the tread in international
trade and international trade policies, examine the effect international trade
policies on international trade and the effect of international trade and
policies on economic growth of Nigeria. The data of this work was collected
from the statistics bulletin of the CBN from 1980 - 2012. The tools used
include tread analysis and multiple regression analysis international trade
polices was measured by the degree of trade openness and structural adjustment
policy of the government, the international trade was measured by the import
and export and the economy proxied by the gross domestic product. It was found
that the international trade polices of the country had a significant effect on
the international trade of the economy. It therefore recommended that the
government should formulate policies that will foster international trade
polices and enhance international trade and growth of the economy
