Effects Of Price And Pricing Decisions On The Consumption Of Bambara Nut (A Study Of Selected Major Towns In Abia State, Nigeria)
ABSTRACT
This study access the effects of
price and pricing decisions on the consumption of Bambara nut in Abia State,
Nigeria with the aim to ascertain the effect of price of Bambara nut on its
demand, determine the effect of skimming pricing policy and strategy on market
share of Bambara nuts while establishing the reasonability of the adoption of
penetrating pricing policy and strategy in the marketing of Bambara nuts and to
determine to what extent competitive pricing policy and strategy has enhanced
in the consumption rate of Bambara nuts. The data for this research work was
sourced through primary and secondary data through the use of questionnaire,
textbook, journals etc and hypothesis formulated were subjected to test of
significance using regression analysis model and correlation analysis.
Restrictive distribution strategy should be adopted as it creates demand for Bambara
nut since it is not unique in the market and recommends the penetration pricing
policy and strategy as the best strategy for Bambara nut to be competitive in
the market.
