Abstract
The purpose of the study was to establish the effect of
e-marketing on the objectives which included: to establish the relationship
between e-marketing and sales volume in MTN, Umuahia metropolis, Nigeria, to
access how customers are adapting to e-marketing, to ideiltify the challenges
of e-marketing in MTN, Umuahia metropolis, Nigeria. The research design was
casual and both qualitative and quantitative data were collected. The sampling
techniques were stratified and simple random sampling was used. Findings revealed
that majority of MTN customers encounter and regularly use e-marketing
services. It was also found that e-marketing services offered by MTN make it
competitive. The findings also revealed that there is no major information gap
between MTN and its customers who have fully utilized e-marketing platforms to
interact with the company. Furthermore, there is a strong relationship between
e-marketing and sales volume. MTN should thus ensure they fully exploit
e-marketing services available to them successfully reach and retain their
customers since customers seem to be captivated by e-marketing platforms but
most especially mobile phone marketing and social network marketing
