Abstract
The
study investigated the qualification of Biology teachers as predictor of
secondary school students' performance in external examinations in Aba North
L.G.A. of Abia State. Corrclational survey design was adopted to determine the
degree of relationship between teacher qualification and student's academic
performance in Biology, The population comprised 156 teachers and the summary
of student performance in Biology for the 202 1/2022 academic session WASSCE.
The sample 'as the same with the population sini:e it is manageable. Two

hypothesi~ guided the study. The research questions were analyzed
using Regression, Anova and Mean.

Ry implication. teachers with higher academic qualifications are more likely to
plan
individualize
learning, guide and encourage individual students' learning. plan a productive
lesson and
diagnose
students problems. On the basis of this, it was recommended that the Federal
and State
Ministries
of Education should encourage teachers with NCE and ONO to further their
education;
