ABSTRACT

Primary data collected from Primary School Teachers in Umuahia North and Ikwuano L. 0. A. was discussed. The main objective of the study is to get a result, which could be relevant in formulation and implementation policies on education. Percentages were used to discuss the distribution of those who preferred teaching profession according to their background characteristics. The Chi- square test was equally applied to sharpen the observations made Fiona this distribution. However, i1i result of the analysis showed that, preference of teaching' profession is not associated with any of the background characteristics of primary school teachers in Abia State.
