ABSTRACT
This research work looked at the
influence of information technology in the marketing of Diamond Bank product. A
study of Diamond Bank Plc in umuahia metropolis. The research work was to find
and examine the extent at which information technology has influenced the
diamond bank personnel and its customers were interviewed. Persona! observation
and questionnaire were also used in collecting the primary data. The
respondents were made up of customers and bank staff. 369 copies of
questionnaires were guided to customers while 25 copies were issued to the staff
of the bank making a total of 394 copies distribute to respondents out of the
369 issued to customers, 350 or 95% were returned and the 25 copies issued to
the bank staff were returned. Based on research questionnaire, data collected
was analysed using table and simple percentage to make available easy
expression, understanding and interpretation of data. We discovered after data analysis
that information technology I the diamond bank did not reduce cost of services
on the bank that customers at the branch still spend longer time during
business transactions with the bank. That branch does not experience increase
in the volume of deposit from its customers that constant power failure in the
branch studied militates against the effective and efficient use of information
technology, that almost all the staffs in the branch. The researcher
recommended that information technology in the branch should be used manually
in order to reduce the cost of services rendered, speed up services in the bank
and reduce time spent by customers while doing business transaction that the
bank should endeavour to use network that is always available in rendering
services to its customers.
