Distributed Database Management System For Inventory Control Management (A Case Study Of Abia State Universal Basic Education Board)
ABSTRACT
Information is a vital tool in any organization a planning
and monitoring process in the essence of a viable information system. The need
is more pronounced where a lot of activities are involved be seen in the store
unit of Abia State Universal Basis Education Board (ASUBEB). This project
research work as the topic suggests Distributed Database Management System for
Inventory Control System seems to develop and implement a database system for
the board. This will help the division (procurement and Stores) to keep good
records or tracks of inventories in the stores. This equally will help them in
dispatching these procured materials to requisitions and get up to date
information. The database is to be designed using Microsoft Access which is a
good database package for this work. The programming aspect has adopted Visual
Basic 6.0 as the programming language. The adoption was facilitated as a result
of the features possessed by these two packages. This will help to achieve the
best desire result in this work. The input and the output of this system will
come in module which will be made up of forms. A top-down approach will be
adopted to support the modules. At the end of the work, it is expected that the
work will achieve the goals such as increased speed, accuracy, reliability,
effectiveness, efficiency, storage system, backup with increased output to the
board, cost minimization, creation of more job opportunities to the state.
