ABSTRACT

Renting also known as hiring or letting, is an agreement where a payment is made for the temporary use of a goods, service or property owned by another. Rental services have many at times perceived by some as a post- modern form of business. The problem statement of this research focus on poor documentation of stock entries of rental equipment, the manual system lacks automation, lack of adequate information in the existing system causes data manipulation, mismanagement of funds by poor business management, poor documentation of defaulting customers and expiration of rental equipment. The project focuses on the development of computerized multi-rental services that would be able to manage rental equipment and business very well. The objectives ofthis research are to develop a platform for computerized multi-rental services in the system, create a platform that adds’ rent information to the system, build a database structure used to store data ofthe users, create a platform that adds item’s information to the system, design a platform that views rent applied to the system, create a platform that generate receipt for the rent applied and the item supplied, design a platform that that view item supplied to the system. This research was realized through the adoption of primary and secondary sources of data collection which includes interview, observation, questionnaire, the internet, journals and through the adoption of rapid application development methodology.
