Design And Implementation Of An Online Billing System A Case Study Of Power Holding Company Of Nigeria Plc Umuahia Business Unit.
ABSTRACT
Online billing system is a web based
information system that will enable an Organization to distribute information
on the charges of the service rendered to customers and what they arc to pay
for, at a specific time. Because of this, the researcher decided to take up a
project in this area and his case study was Power folding Company of
Nigeria, Umuahia business unit. During investigation phase, a lot of
information regarding the existing system was obtained using interviews,
questionnaire, and observation of staff at work etc. The data collected was
analyzed. The process associated with the system and the problems affecting the
entire system were observed. In the implementation of the new system, the
Company will use the internet as its medium for distributing hills to its
numerous customers and it will acts as a feedback to the Company on its revenue
generation A website containing several information, services and enquire pages
were designed, using HTML and visual basic as the development platform. 'liiis
project outlines the motivations to the study, stating the draws back of the
present system and the need for the. proposed system (online hilling system).
As part of the system development process, the system analysis of the existing
system was carried out. Its problems and solution to the problems were
outlined. 1'hc program design was also discussed, describing the development
platform used. It was discuss as a follow up to the system design.
