ABSTRACT

A design and implementation of web-based agricultural information system for Nigeria, the. great giant of Africa. A case study of lkwuano local government area of Abia state, Nigeria. A land gifted with copious resources and great opportunities. This project was developed using hypertex make-up language (HTML), frames animation based on (Microsoft access). It is designed to be user friendly with an incorporated user guide. The agricultural information system on the internet concentrates mainly on resources which will attract potential investors within and outside the country, who will come to harness this opportunity. This project is divided into five chapters. Chapter One deals with the introduction of the project, the objective of the study, the justification of the project, the scope of the study and the block diagram overview of the project stages. Chapter Two deal with the review of related literatures. Chapter Three deals with the methodology of the system analysis and design. The home page, hyperlinked pages, frames and applications, referring to the user's interface, the system and subsystem, top down design concept, system flow chart, data based design and data flow arrangement. Chapter Four, treats software design and implementation, browser side and sever-side software, home page design and implementation of subsystems. Chapter Five treats on software testing and integration. It's comprises of the test plan, tests data and home page test data. It also includes the result attained as a result of the test conducted, and finally the performance of the software was evaluated all in chapter five. Chapter Six, highlights on the summary and conclusion reached during the course of this work. It explains the importance of the language used (HTML) in the development of this work (software). It explained on the fundamental problems encountered during the development of the software. And most importantly, it goes a long way in making suggestion and recommendations for further work and research. The contents of this project work are very rich, interactive and friendly, as such the reader will definitely understand, use and enjoy the reading of every bit of it. likewise it comprehension.
