ABSTRACT

 Road transportation is a critical component of national development, but it is often plagued by the recurring problem ofroad accidents, which result in loss of lives, property damage, and economic decline. This project aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) that can enhance road accident management through timely and data-driven decision-making. The system is designed to provide functionalities such as accident reporting, identification of accident-prone areas, emergency response coordination, and data analysis for preventive planning. The methodology adopted for this project is the Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methodology (SSADM), which includes requirement gathering, system modeling using Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs), and database design using Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs). The system is implemented using JavaScript as the programming language and React, MongoDb as the database management system. By achieving this, the system will assist road safety agencies and emergency services in making informed decisions, improving response time, and reducing accident frequency. It is recommended that relevant government agencies and transport organizations adopt and scale this system to enhance road safety and save lives.
