Costing As An Effective Tool For Control Of Management Activities In The Manufacturing Companies In Nigeria:- Blessing Nwaoha
ABSTRACT
This study examined (iosting as
an effective tool for control ofmanagement activities in the manufacturing
industries. Specifically, the study examine the important and effectiveness of
costing in the manufacturing companies and seeks to examine whether there exist
a relationship between costing and the control of management activities in the
manufacturing companies and also seek to know the extent to which costing as a
tool has significantly affected the performance of the manufacturing industries
and proffer necessary recommendations. An empirical analysis ofthe
effectiveness of costing was carried out using questionnaire to extract
information. The simple percentage technique and chi-square statistical tool
was also use to analyze the data. The findings revealed that there is a
positive relationship between the tool of costing and control of management
activities. It also shows that the tool of costing is effective for the control
ofmanagement activities in the manufacturing industries. The study recommends
that companies can improve on the tool of costing by devising other ways of
sourcing for raw material and also channel the use of waste product for the
production of other goods and services
