ABSTRACT

 the introduction of computer  into every facets of Life has tremendously increased the information needs of organizations and the society at large. This, to greater level has called for the need to automate the hilling system of Abia State Water Board (ASWB). this will help to facilitate the flow of activities in and around the board. This research work is carried out using this hoard as a ease of' study with the aim of providing a comprehensive most reliable computerized water system. This would not only benefit ASWB but equally will be useful to any other water board intending to computerize its billing system and help in providing management information for the board. The researcher has chosen to use Visual Basic 6.0 as a programming Language in order to achieve the desired result for this work. The work will involve the use MS-Access to create the database system for the records of customers. The input and output of the new system will he designed using forms. The ":Top-Down" approach has been adopted in the research work which will enable the Researcher develop the program in modules. This, when completed will increase the speed, accuracy, reliability, security effectiveness, efficiency of' production of customers monthly water bills. The economic importance of' this project are: Increase output, Cost minimization, Optimization of profit, and Creation of more job opportunities.
