ABSTRACT
This project analyses a general and
well-established research into a computer-based decentralized voting system
(CVS). The need for the CVS stems from the problems ofthe existing paper-based
or manual voting model which is slow, prone to manipulation, wastes resources
and has led to reduced voter enthusiasm in the electioneering process. The CVS
aims to provide an automated voting model, one which is time and resource
efficient. The primary objectives are to optimize vote tallying, reduce
instances of vote manipulation through decentralization, and offer a reliable
record mechanism through a database. The computer-based decentralized voting
system speeds up the voting process, saves the stress ofmanual voting and
counting hence breeding voter happiness and trust in the election process. The
adopted research methodology for the CVS is the RAD (Rapid Application
Development) as it effectively eases the transfer from a manual system to the
new proposed CVS model.
