Abstract
The study carried out a comparative
students'academic analyses of performances chemistry in sciences (physics,
examinations and biology) in WASSCE and NECO between 2003-2007 in Umuahia
Education Zone of Abia State. Interest was stimulated performance by the
researcher's concern for students' low and in sciences. Three research
questions three hypotheses were formulated researcher. to quide the A total of
ten schools were used for the study. Secondary Data were collected from
statistics unit of Education Management Board, Unuahia by a proforma. The
results obtained A1-19 were using percentages questions to answer the rescarch
and chi-square to test the null hypotheses. The study revealed that candidates
in NECO than performed better high WASSCE. It also shows that there was ovcrall
enrolment in NECO than in WASSCE with poor performance in the lwo examinations.
As a matter of recommendation, equivalence there should be the two examinations.
