Effect Of Work Environment On Employee Productivity In Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia State, Nigeria:- Okoronkwo Chukwuebuka
ABSTRACT
The basic objective of this study
was to empirically ascertain the effect of work environment on employee
productivity in Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia state. To achieve l vis •
objective. 255 respondents were selected for the study after selection through
stratified random sampling process. Questionnaire specifically designed for the
study was administer'd on the respondents through a fi_dcP survey. The returned
questionnaires were processed and1 primary data were extracted. The primary
data were analysed using descriptive statistics. Pearson correlation matrix aj^
multiple linear regression analysis. The empirical results from the estimated
regression model indicates that the major work environment factors that
predicted employees' productivity were salary, incentive, staff strength, noise
and power* ■ supply. I he
result from the Pearson correlation matrix was that there is a negative
associal ve relationship between work environment .and employee productivity.
It was recommended t ini there is a need to eliminate the source of noise
around the work environment, re-design he incentive packages, realign salary
structure in line with economic realities and improve on he current level of
power supply
