ABSTRACT

The study examine the effect of strategic management on the survival and growth of an organization A study of "up Bottling Co. Aha, Abia State). Specifically the study determine the effect oj strategic management formulation on the survival and growth oforganization; determine lhe effect of strategic management implementation on the survival growth of organization; examine the relationship between strategic management on the survival and growth ofan organization and ascertainfactors affecting strategic management practice in lhe organization. Primary data sourcedfrom distribution ofquestionnaires to staffof7up Bottling Co. Aha. Abia State were usedfor the study. A test-re-test was conducted to ensure validity and reliability of lhe data. The data were presented with frequency and simple percentage; and analyzed using simple regression model and correlation coefficient. The result jrom test of hypothesis shows that strategic managementformulation has significant effect on growth and survival of an organizational in 7up Pic Aba, Abia State and strategic management implementation has a positive and significant effect on growth and survival of an organizational in 7up Pic Aba, Abia State. Thus, there ispositive relationship between strategic management and organizational growth and survival of 7up Pic Aba, Abia Stale. Il was recommended the management oj'7up Pic shouldpay more attention to lhe implementation of strategic management, that is. strategic planning, strategy implementation and control of activities within the organizations, as that will increase the work efficiency and improve the quality ofproduct and services delivery.
