ABSTRACT
A Rice de-stoning machine materials. The machine
is developed to solve the problem associated with rice processing. particularly
the removal ofstones and other impurities.This research was carried out to
modify existing rice de-stoner for the purpose ofincreasing its capacity,
efficiency and further reducing the cost implications from the already existing
mechanisms. A 0.5HP vibratory motor motor with a speed of 2840 r min-1 was
intended to power the destoning machine and Galvanized steel was used majorly
for the fabrication ofcomponent parts for ease ofmachining, assembling, maintenance
and affordability.The efficiency in separating and de-stoning rice was
assessed, along with the amount of impurities remaining after separation. The
total cost ofproducing one unit ofthe rice de-stoning machine is Four hundred
and Fifty Thousand Naira only.(N450,540)
