ABSTRACT
Flooding ha become an annual occurrence due to the change in climate. Early flood warning system is a digital device used in flood detection. It is designed to monitor sea level and send alert signal to relevant agencies or the communities on the impending dangers or possible flooding of the area. This instrument is mounted in rivers or any other body of water. The instrument consists of level sensors which shows flashes of light when water gets to a certain level. At the first level, the LED light emitting diode shows a green light indicating that the water is at its normal level. At the second eve, the LED shows a yellow light indicating that the water is increasing and flooding is about to take place and at the last level (level 3), the LED showed a red light indicating danger. Here an alarm is heard. At this time, the necessary precaution is taken to avoid damage. The system can be applied in industries.
