ABSTRACT
This project presents the design and constriction
of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system with ar apparent power output of
500VA. This was achieved by tie use of the following electrical and electronic
components transformer, rectifier, invert r circuit, battery, full-wave
rectification, change-over circuit and filtering was implemented by the use of
smoothing circuit using capacitors. I used an inverter that delivers an
alternating current of 220V, 50Hz and the output voltage is made to have enough
power to drive the load connected to it. The output from the inverter is synchronized
in frequency and magnitude with the external power supply so that when there is
power outage, take battery back-up inverter then supply power to the critical
locate enduring that the power supply to the critical load is uninterrupted.
