ABSTRACT

This project work design and construction of a 0-50V dc power supply unit was designed and constructed by the process of step down, rectification, filtration and regulation of 230 volts mains supply of 50Hz. The device was designed and constructed with reliable materials and based on correct engineering specifications to give out variable output voltage ranging between 0-50 volts. The device was tested and was found to give out an output current of about 1000mA (IA) a very low output impedance and a high rated power of about 50 watts and a very good regulation. Thus the device could be used as an efficient power supply in the laboratory, homes and even in commercial setting to operate some electrical, electronics, and computer equipment that have a rated voltage value between 0-50 volts.
