ABSTRACT

The study examined buyer athtude towards made-in- Nigeria shoes whose case study was Aba in Abia State. Specifically, it focused on analyzing the soclo-demographic profile of respondents; estimating determinants of buyer attitude; comparing preference for foreign and local shoes. The study employed 160 respondents, and half the respondents were foreign shoe users, and the other half represented local shoe users. The respondents were selected purposively, descriptive statistics, binary logit and paired t-test statistic were the tools used in the analysis of data. The results showed that the respondents were dominated by young productive people that are moderately literate and have worn shoes for many years. The results further shows that age, price and income were major determinants of buying attitude of the respondents.
