ABSTRACT
The
growing rate of abandon contracts in some of our states and local governments
and the effect of this abandonment strengthened the research for regular
analysis. Poor revenue generation can be attrihE” s r ,.. , airnDuted to non
payment of tax and other levies. Daia on Revenue recorded from Jan 2007 to Dec
2011 were collected from the Boar o ntema e\ enue, Ehime Mbano, Imo state.
Adopting the method oftime sen：s ana ysis, the data were observed to have a
downward trend. The ACF and PACF ot t le original series suggested AR⑴ but a
check at the ACF ofthe residual ot AK(1) shows up to three cut offs in twenty
lags which is against the stipulations of box Jekins. The original series was
differentiated and the ACF and PACF suggested ARIMA (3,1,1). The ACF of
residual of ARIMA (3,1,1) has only one cut offin hventy lags which is found better
than AR(1). The ACF and PACF ofthe differenced series and the fliture forecast
are shown in the appendix. Recommendations were made and conclusion was also
made to motivate a move towards the solution ofthese problems.
