Time Series Analysis Of Internally Generated Revenue In Nigeria (A Case Study Of Abia State):- Basil Kingsley
ABSTRACT
This study is to construct a stationary time
series model that is suitable for the monthly internally generated revenue in
Abia state. The trend has estimated utilizing time series analysis as
analytical tool on monthly data set from ministry of finance that ranged from
2007 to201 l.The analysis of the data showed an increase in the revenue
generated. The plot of autoregressive function of the differenced data was used
to identify a suitable model for the data. By the use of statistical software
Minitab package, Autoregressive integrated moving average model was fitted and
adequacy of the model was checked using Q statistics. Forecast values were also
generated for one year. The analysis revealed that the revenue has no seasonal
influence. As such the study recommends that a public awareness programme in
the media should be encouraged by the state authority. In such programme the
populace should be educated properly about revenue and it advantages to the
state.
