Influence Of Laboratory Facilities In The Teaching And Learning Of Physics In Secondary Schools In Ikwuano L.G.A. Abia State.
ABSTRACT
This study adopted a simple
survey design and was carried in six selected secondary schools in Ikwuano L.G.
A. it was set examine the influence of laboratory facilities in teaching and
learning of physics. The study examined the availability, utilization and
influence of laboratory facilities in teaching and learning of physics. A
random sampling technique was used to sample 150 physics students and 12 physics
teachers out of six selected secondary schools. Three research questions and
hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Questionnaire with four
points wert scale were use for data collection and was validated by three
exports in research in the department of science education. The reliability
coefficient of the instruments was established using cronbach Alpha with a
value of 0.83. Chi - square test of independent was used for data analysis
while mean and standard deviation was used to test the research questions. The
result reveals that the available physics laboratory facilities are utilized by
the physics teacher in teaching and learning.
