ABSTRACT

This research work broadly examines the impact of internet banking in the Nigerian banking environment the sped tie objectives includes; To evaluate the impact of internet banking on Banks profitability, to determine the impact of internet on Banker customer relationship, to determine the growth and development of internet banking. The study was carried out in Umuahia metropolis. The method of data analysis was based on the statistical table format using frequency distribution and consequently converted into percentages for easy analysis. a good number of banks base their operations on computer Technology owing to the fact that Nigeria is a developing country and most financial institutions are yet to embrace the competition of service delivery through the use of computer networking. The introduction of internet banking by many Nigerian banks have positively influenced the operations of the bank through enhanced service delivery and also increased the bank's capital base and profitability. Based on the finding, recommendations were made.
