Ime Series Analysis Of Reported Road (Traffic) Accident In Umuahia (Abia State) From January 2003 To December 2007
ABSTRACT
The future number of serious person in road
accident is never known with complete certainty. Therefore there is need to
forecast those uncertainties so that motorists who wishes to budget time and
speed effectively can take decision and so that plans could be related not only
to the current decision but also to predict future conditions. This is why in
this project, it was. discerned necessary to forecast the Lumber of scours persons
that will be victimized in traffic road accident ill the next one year. This
data use for this study was collected from the federal road safety commission
Umuahia, based on monthly record from 2003 to 2007 it was done using time
series analysis on multiplicative model. This shows the presents of seasonal
variation. This was also diseases then
adjusted hence exposing cyclical and irregular variations5 All these were
represented graphically. Finding the products of trend, seasonal index and
cyclical variation were made. Then finally forecasting. Forecasting was then
concluded that more serious persons would be occurred in 2008 if cares and
corrections are not taken.
