Evaluation of accounting and financial control in public sector establishment in Nigeria:- Ahiara Comfort U
ABSTRACT
These days that the issues of corruption and
fraud have become common, there is no better time to take seriously the gospel
of accountability and financial control in both public and private institution.
This study aims at finding ways and measures to enhance accountability through
effective and efficient financial and internal control mechanisms. So to say,
it is tire believe ofthis research that if the proper machinery of control —
both internal and financial is put in place, accountability will not be so had
to achieve in public sector establishment. Three hypothesis were formulated in
chapter one and statistically tested in chapter four to ascertain their
reliability. Data for this work were collect from a wide spectrum of
instruments like questionnaires, interviews, observation and library research.
These data was further analyzed to form part of the findings of the study. The
work is divided into five distinct chapters with the last chapter proffering
recommendations and suggestions for further research.
