ABSTRACT
This
work gives an overview ofthe effects of value added tax revenue on totally
federal collected revenue and economic development in Nigeria. The major
objective oftins work is to find out the degree ofsuccess ofthe effects of
Value Added Tax revenue on totally federal collected revenue and economic
development in the country. It tends to look at the relationship VAT has on the
federal collected revenue and the country’s GDP. Secondary data was obtained to
analyze this assertion with these statistical tools; correlation and regression
analysis respectively. The researcher found out that VAT revenue really has a
strong influence, therefore suggests that government should create measures on
how to reach out to the grassroots level in order to earn since it is
discovered to be one ofthe third revenue generator
