ABSTRACT
The study examines the effect ofaccounting
software on quality offirms 'financial report in Nigeria. The survey design is
adoptedfor this work. This method involves the normal gathering, analysis and
interpretation ofa set ofdata so as to explain the underlyingfactors that
surrounds the problems that trigger the research andprimary data will be
usedfor the study. In the course ofthis study it was revealed that accounting
software has a positive correlation with the timeliness offinancial reports but
it has no significant effect on the timeliness of financial reports ofthe
listedfirms in Nigeria. The study concludes that accounting software has no
significant effect on the timeliness offinancial reports oflisted banks in
Nigeria and In line with thefindings ofthe study, it is recommended that listed
banks shouldproperly integrate the required accounting software into the
processing oftheir day to day transactions. They should also give the required
training to staffthat will enhance their skill on the use ofthis accounting
software tofast track the processing offinancial information to be made
availablefor decision making.
