ABSTRACT

Attendance tracking is a fundamental aspect of administrative operations, providing critical data for assessing participation, engagement, and productivity. In educational institutions, tracking attendance is essential for monitoring staff presence, ensuring compliance with academic requirements, and identifying patterns that may indicate issues such as truancy or disengagement. I was motivated to embark on this research because tracking attendance manually is unsecure, unreliable and it can be lost, the issue with the use of electronic cards or password based system for attendance allows for pretense since cards or passwords can be shared and transfer or someone can ask other person to enroll for them, capturing attendance manually is not always accurate because staff cheat by signing for a person who is absent and record their friends’ attendance falsely, capturing attendance manually is also time consuming,. The system was achieved by developing a platform for an automatic attendance tracking system, build a database structure used to store data, design a module for login interface, create a platform that staff uses to clocking in, create a platform that help staff to clocking out, design a platform that display attendance list, design a platform that display attendance tracking report. This research was realized through the adoption of primary and secondary sources of data collection which includes interview, observation, questionnaire, the internet. The results showed that the review seek ways to streamline operations and enhance productivity. The application was realized by using HTML, CSS and JavaScript and MySQL as the database and followed a Waterfall method of the order of; requirement gathering/analysis, system design, implementation, testing, system deployment and maintenance.
