Design And Implementation Of An Expert System That Marks Students Post UTME Result (A Case Study Of Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture Umuidike)
ABSTRACT
This project is to
design an expert system that marks students POST UTME results in MOUAU. The
relevance is to cushion the effect of the existing manual system, solve the
slow marking and loss of examinations scripts and thus to encourage and
implement a faster and better Post UTME delivery in the university. The
researcher consulted relevant test and the internet in his literature review,
employed observation and questionnaire method as part of data collection and
analysis. The researcher created databases showing the structure, student's
scores, and security of the information in the new system which will require a
log in identification number to key into or access information by the student
in the new system. The researcher also developed a comprehensive flow charts
showing the various steps involved in the development of the new system. He
used Microsoft visual basic 6.0 programming language to code the modular
programs for the new system in a top-to-down design approach. Conclusively this
program could be applied or implemented in any other structured
examinations/assessment system.
