ABSTRACT
This project deals with the design and construction of an
automatic traffic light controller. It uses complimentary metal oxide silicon
(CMOS) integrated circuit(IC) (4017) as IC counters which sequences the light
emitting diode. 555 timers are used to achieve the a stable multivibrator which
drives the circuit. The power supply of this automatic traffic light was
achieved using 240 V/12V step-down transformer, bridge rectifier and a positive
9V voltage regulator IC (7809) Electronics work bench (student circuit maker
was used for the design and simulation of the work.
