Cost Accounting Information And Price Determination (A Study Of Nigeria Brewery Plc, Enugu):- Nnadi Uchechi J
Abstract
The
aim of this work was to appraise cost accounting information and price
determination with special focus on Nigerian's Breweries Pic Enugu. In
pursuance of the above aim, available literatures on the area of the study were
reviewed. Questionnaires were used to obtain data from respondents. The total
population for the study was 98, while the sample size is 79. 72 out of 79
questionnaires distributed by the researcher were returned. The statistical
techniques used for the analyses of data, and hypotheses testing were simple
percentage and chi-square (X2) test respectively. The findings established
include, cost accounting information is significantly relevant in deterring the
price of a product, cost accounting information is significantly helpful to
management in decisions. Profit obtainable within a period is significantly
dependent on the cost of production within that period. Relying on the above
findings, the following recommendation were made, measure should be put in
place to reduce the cost of production, management should always make use of
cost accounting information in decision making, most especially decisions that
concern price of a product.
