Analysis Of The Influence Of Packaging Techniques In The Marketing Of Consumer Goods (A Study Of Pz Industries Aba)
ABSTRACT
Analysis of the influence of
packaging techniques in the marketing of consumer goods is embarked upon by
tile researcher owing to the intensive competition and distribution
complexities among firms in these contemporary times. Both survey-descriptive
and longitudinal designs are employed. Simple regression, as well as chi-square
and descriptive statistics techniques ate used to statistically analy7e a set
of primary data from 85 respondents and secondary data from Vi, industries Ii
C, Aba for 5 financial periods. The of the analyses reveals (hat cost of
packaging consumer goods has significant influence on the sales volume and
profitability of a company at 1% significant level with r20.96578 and 0.7893 respectively.
Made packaging of consumer goods is a veritable measure for reducing cost of'
distribution of consumer goods to a very large extent. Based on the results,
the study therefore concludes that marketing companies should see packaging as
a good marketing strategy and tool for optimum performance in any competitive
marketing environment, and finally, consumer goods firms should adopt packaging
as a techniques of reducing cost of distribution of consumer goods in this time
of global meltdown.
