ABSTRACT
In this project, the impact of
temperature and relative humidity were evaluated in Abia state for the yield of
yam for the past 19 years (1992-2010). A secondary data was collected from the
National Root Crop Institute Umudike at Metrological unit and state statistical
agency respectively. In this research work, multiple regression was used to
analyze the data, the coefficient of multiple regression and residual plot was
introduced to show how well the sample regression line fit the data and the
adequacy of the fitted model. In testing the significance of the model, it was
established at 5% level of significance that there exist a functional
relationship between the yield of yam and climatic factors.
