ABSTRACT

The synthesis of amoxicillin complex of Mn(II) and Co(ll) were performed by the reaction of amoxicillin with MnCI±.4HsO and uCl±.2H5O respectively. The solubility of the complexes were determined. It was observed that the amoxicillin-manganese complex was soluble in water. acetone and sparingly soluble in ~·1ha11ol \\hik amoxicilli11-coppcr complex was sparingly soluble in water and ethanol but insoluble in acetone. The UV visible of the complexes showed ligand to metal charge transfer (LMCT). The infrnn:d spectra showed the involvemenl of C-S. OH and CO in coordination· lo the metal ion. Amoxicillin behaved as a tridentate ligand. The ability of amoxicillin to SClfL11.:strate i\ln and Cu is hereby assured.
