ABSTRACT

This study examined the application of queuing theory in the banking sector in Access Bank Plc, Uyo Branch. This research work was carried out with objective of the study, which aim an objective is to examine the number of customer waiting for service and expected number of a customer in the system. The probability that the facilities would be idle and all serving facilities is simultaneously busy. The multiple queuing techniques were employed to analyze the data. The result indicates that the expected waiting time and the probability that arrival has to wait as a decrease in number of ATM Machines   increases. Since the arrival rate and service rate could not be controlled by any measure. The recommendation is made that more ATM channels would be installed for effective customer services and would help to minimize waiting time.
