ABSTRACT

Two hundred and seventy four weeks old broiler birds were used to determine the performance of finisher broilers fed raw pigeon pea seed diets supplemented with lysine, and r incthionne. The birds were randomly assigned to nine dietary treatments, with thirty birds in a treatment and each treatment was replicated three times with each replicate having ten birds. The design is a 2x4 factorial in a complete randomized design (CRD) with levels of raw pigeon pea seed meal (PSM) inclusion and amino acids supplemented diets as the factors. The inclusion levels of raw PSM were at 30% and 40% respectively of the whole diets. Each of the raw PSM diet was supplemented with lysine, methionine, lysine + methionine and no supplementation. There was also a control diet without PSM and amino acid supplementation. The parameters deteiinined were final live weight, daily weight gain, daily feed intake, feed conversion ratio, protein intake, and protein efficiency ratio, and cost per kg weight gr.n. The results showed that the control diet gave a signiiIcantly
