ABSTRACT

The isolation and susceptibility patterns of microorganisms isolated from palm wine were carried out, three palm wine samples were brought from Ariam, Ndioru and Ahia eke markets and cultured on Nutrient agar, MacConkey agar, Sabourd Dextrose agar and Eosin methylene blue agar respectively. Biochemical tests (oxidase, indole, catalase and citrate) were carried out for the identification of the microorganism. The bacteria genera isolated were Escherichia coil, Lactobacilius spp, Micrococcus spp, and Streptococcus spp and the fungi genera isolated were Saccharomyces cerevisie and Candida krusei. The isolates were resistant to Gentamicin, Ciprofloxacin, Tetracycline, Chloramphenicol, Nitrofurantoin, Norfioxacin, Ampicillin, Amoxycilin, Erythromycin, Cephalexin and Centriazone.
