Abstract
The inhibitory effect of Voacanga africana root and stem bark extraction in 1.0M HC1 was studied using gravimetric method. From the result, the plant extracts act as inhibitor in the acidic medium. The inhibition efficiency increases with increase in the concentration ofthe extract. The corrosion late pioves to be temperature dependent and inhibitor molecules were discovered to be physically absorbed to the surface of the metal. The adsorption gradient of the extract follows Langmuir isotheim. The synthetic effect shows that KI improves the inhibition efficiency of the plant extract.
