Abstract This paper examined the economic impact ofoil and non-oil export on economic growth in Nigeria from 1981 - 2018. The objectives ofthe study were to determine the impact ofoil export and nonoil export on the economic growth in Nigeria. Secondary data were collected based on the model used in the research work and unit root test was conducted on the data to test their stationary, after which we performed co-integration test to analyze the long run relationship among the variables. The result obtainedfrom our empirical analysis shows that oil export has a positive significant impact on the economic growth in Nigeria while non-oil export has no significant impact on the counlrys' economic growth. The study therefore recommends that the government should implement export diversification policies. Non-oil sector exports should also be encouraged. The development of the non-oil export sector will further improve the volume of exports and balance oftrade in Nigeria.
