ABSTRACT

This study analyzed the policies that attract foreign investment which have become the focus of considerable attention in many developing countries particularly since the beginning of the debt crisis in the eighties. As part of Nigeria strategy to stimulate foreign investment, the Federal Government of Nigeria established. The industrial development coordinating committee (NDDC) in 1988 as a one way Agency for facilitating and attracting foreign investment inflow. It then follows that the contribution of foreign investment to the economic development of a country like Nigeria is highly welcomes, hence the topic "The impact of foreign investment on the Nigeria Economic development". The quasi experimental design method was employed for the analysis and data over 15 years period were employed using the "OLS" ordinary least squared method to analyze the work. Based on these findings, conclusion and recommendations were made so as to encourage further inflow of foreign investment to our newly Democratic Nation (Nigeria)
