Impact Of Computer Technology On Accounting System And Employment Generation Of Accountants In Nigeria (A Study On The Office Of The Auditor General For The Federation, Imo State.)

ABSRACT

 This work is written on the Impact of Computer Technology on Accounting System and Employment Generation of Accountants in Nigeria. The dynamics and rapid growths in business environment makes it imperative J&r business organizations to adopt the developments in the environment &v embarking on the computerized accounting system so as to avoid the problenis associated with ihe manual accounting system which include poor information handling which makes it imperative to evaluate the effect of the introduction of computer technology on accounting system. The data for the research was collected using primary data using Simple Regression as the method of Data Analysis. The Researcher concluded that computer technology has significant effect on accounting system in Nigeria; while computer technology has no significant effect on the employment generation of accountants in Nigeria. Furthermore, computer technology has significant effect on the operations of organizations in Nigeria. The conclusion for this research was further drawn from the fact that computer technology has no significant effect on the skills of accountants of organizations in Nigeria. In the research he recommended that firms in Nigeria should devote more time and resources towards training their accountant to acquiring skills in computer accounting so as to blend with the recent world development. lIe ti/so recommended that firms in Nigeria should consider the know/edge in computer accounting as one of the major criteria fir the employment of accountants in Nigeria in other to encourage accountants to acquire skills in accounting technology.
