ABSTRACT

 The study examined the impact of company income tax and petroleum profit tax on gross domestic product in Nigeria from 2000 to 2016. The specific objectives were to ascertain the impact of company income tax on the gross domestic product and to determine the impact of petroleum profit tax on the gross domestic product. The adopted ex-post facto research design. The data sourced from CBN Statistical Bulletin was analyzed using simple regression analysis. The result revealed that company income tax has positive and significant impact on the gross domestic product and petroleum profit tax has positive and significant impact on the gross domestic product. It was recommended that government should make judicious use income generated from income from company income tax and petroleum profit tax for the benefits of Nigerians
