Gender Differences In Academic Performance Of Primary School Pupils (A Case Study Of South Land Primary School, Aba Abia State)

ABSTRACT

 The objectives of this work is to statistically analyze the point value of primary school pupils, a case study of southland secondary school Aha of 2010 / 2011 academic session. This study was to determine the gender difference on the academic performance over the above mentioned period. The data used is a secondary data gotten from the office of the principal and was tested statistically using chi-square test of independence. It was observed that the academic performance of primary 3, 4 and 6 pupils depend on gender while academic performance of primary 5 does not depend on gender, in such case requires further research. It was also observed that male pupils were found to outperform female pupils in their examination result. Implications and recommendation based on the results were also introduced
