ABSTRACT

Fungi associated with postharvest deterioration of onion (Allium cepa), carrot (Dacus carrota) and cucumber (cucumis sativum) in abia state were investigated. Infected samples of these crops were collected from Ubani, Orie Ugba Ibeku and Ndioru market. Isolation of fungi was done following standard procedures on Water Agar (W A) and incubated at room temperature for colonies emerging from diseased tissues in the culture plates were re-isolated and transferred to Potato Dextrose Agar plate (PDA) until pure cultures were obtained. Pathogenicity test carrie out on the isolates confirmed them pathogenic.
